Her Story
Cynthia is a long-time Gahanna community partner.
Cynthia currently serves as the Assistant Fiscal Officer for Mifflin Township and has nearly two decades of experience in the Financial Department of the City of Gahanna. A dedicated advocate for children's well-being, she was appointed to the advisory board of Crown Preparatory Academy in 2022. Inspired by discussions at a school board meeting regarding the launch of the LifeWise program—a vital initiative aimed at equipping children with essential life skills—Cynthia decided to step up for the Gahanna-Jefferson School Board.
Her agenda emphasizes a commitment to Academic Excellence and robust support for the educational system. She prioritizes fiscal responsibility and sustainability, while also focusing on the development of mentorship and internship programs. Cynthia aims to eliminate bullying and foster positive behavioral improvement initiatives.
As a representative of the Gahanna-Jefferson School District, her mission is to implement programs that provide assistance to students with grades below a 2.5 GPA, particularly those facing emotional challenges, mental health issues, bullying, and low self-esteem. In addition to supporting students who are facing challenges, Cynthia is committed to nurturing and challenging those who are already excelling academically. She believes in creating opportunities for high-achieving students to further their talents through advanced programs, scholarships, and enrichment activities, ensuring that all students have the resources and encouragement needed to reach their full potential.
Cynthia is a passionate advocate for youth, having fostered 28 children, and she is proud to be the mother of two biological graduates of the district. She has assisted with ACT testing and volunteers for boys' and girls' track and field teams. One of her favorite volunteer efforts is with Gahanna Residents In Need (GRIN) and the Shop with a Cop program.
Cynthia is married to Aaron Lampkins, and together they have a blended family of six children and eighteen grandchildren. This year, they are excited to welcome another foster child who will be attending Gahanna Lincoln High School.
